Promoting your podcast is just as important as creating it!

Without promotion, it will be difficult for potential listeners to discover your show. Here are a few tips on how to promote your health and fitness podcast and grow your audience:

1. Submit your podcast to directories. Submit to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. Adding your podcasts to these platforms will make it easier for listeners to discover your show. Not sure how? Check out our free Cheat Sheet Guide, which breaks down exactly how to make this happen.

2. Share your episodes and use 'honey traps' to encourage listeners to subscribe. When you post new episodes to your socials, be sure to use 'honey traps' to encourage listeners and ask your followers to share with their friends.

What are honey traps, you ask? Honey traps are questions or statements that entice a listener to listen. For example, "Do you want to know the secret to getting 8 hours of sleep every night?" or "You should know these 3 things about heart disease." When you post about an episode, follow the rule of 3 and make sure to post about every episode at least 3 times. It may feel repetitive to you but to most of your followers, they'll need to see a promotion at least 3 times to click on it.

3. Collaborate with other podcasts or influencers.

Collaborating with influencers

Network in your industry and discuss ways to cross-promote each other's shows. You'll be surprised how many podcasters are willing and ready to do this; after all, it will help them too!

4. Ask listeners to leave reviews.

Offer incentives for listeners to leave reviews or rate your show on iTunes and Spotify. These reviews and ratings can help boost your visibility and make it easier for new listeners to discover your show.

5. Utilize paid promotions.

While organic reach on social media can be limited, consider utilizing paid promotions to reach a wider audience. You can do this through sponsored posts or ads on platforms like Facebook or Instagram. It can be surprisingly budget-friendly, putting your post in front of new faces for a low cost!

6. Dive into email marketing.

If you have an email list of subscribers, send out newsletters or updates about your latest episodes. An email list is a great way to keep your audience engaged and informed about new content.

7. Participate in podcast communities and forums.

9. Optimize your website for search engines.

Make sure your website is optimized by including keywords related to your podcast in your website content and meta tags. This will make it easier for potential listeners to find your podcast through search engines like Google.

10. Hosting live Q&A sessions or webinars.

By actively engaging with your audience and showing them that you value their feedback and participation, you can build a stronger relationship with them and encourage them to continue listening to and sharing your podcast.

Additionally, consider offering exclusive content or bonuses to your most dedicated listeners as a way to reward their loyalty and encourage them to spread the word about your show.

By following these steps and consistently putting out high-quality content, you can build a loyal audience for your health and fitness podcast and establish yourself as an authority in your industry.
